Amazing heritage of Anatolia is in display in the Museum, various objects and the museum itself historic. Garden looks like a park but still ok. staff kind enough, entrance fee was 48 if I m not wrong. (Museum staff corrected me) But worth to see. Thanks
The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations (Turkish: Anadolu Medeniyetleri Müzesi) is located on the south side of Ankara Castle in the Atpazarı area in Ankara, Turkey. It consists of the old Ottoman Mahmut Paşa bazaar storage building, and the Kurşunlu Han. Because of Atatürk's desire to establish a Hittite museum, the buildings were bought upon the suggestion of Hamit Zübeyir Koşay, who was then Culture Minister, to the National Education Minister, Saffet Arıkan. After the remodelling and repairs were completed (1938–1968), the building was opened to the public as the Ankara Archaeological Museum.
It is a really great experience to see artifacts of many ancient Anatolian civilizations in one place.
Tek kelimmeyle mukemmel. Spectecular. Dont even pass through Ankara without stopping by here
Very nice place where you can have a look at the anatolium history and heritage. Would be better if the audio systems were arranged in smarter ways.
Great collection from Paleolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Age and you may see unique and replica artifacts from Hittites, Urartu, Phrygians, Assyrians and more from other Anatolian prehistoric civilizations. The museum has two main sections with more to display in the garden. It also has small gift shop and a cafe. Located in historic center of Ankara on the way to castle. That area is also worth visiting too.
The Anatolian Civilizations Museum, being among exceptional museums with its unique collection, has Anatolian archaeological artefacts and artefacts from the Palaeolithic Age to the present.
