If you'd have told me before I left on my trip to Istanbul, a city I've long dreamed of visiting, that one of my most memorable experiences would be visiting a rug store - which sells an assortment of kilim, rugs, cushion covers, salt bags, arrow bags, tapestries and other woven furnishings - I would have called you crazy. Yet this is exactly what happened - we were drawn in by the caps from our country and we stayed for Hakverdi and the store! Hakverdi welcomed us warmly and treated us like we were family members, giving us a detailed insight into some of the products in store, of how and where they are made and about kilim in general. The products are all of exceptionally high quality as well, with something for everyone's price range! Absolute must visit when in Istanbul - have a conversation with the staff and buy some beautiful items to bring back to your homes!

A trustworthy store. Since I first visited in 1995, I've bought three rugs (1616knots Hereke's silk, Kayseri Manchester of late 19th century, antique wool) at this store and they were all satisfying purchases.
My sister and I stumbled into this place by accident as we were so fed up of the traders at Grand Bazaar. The owner and his assistant were so nice and forthcoming I ended up buying 2 rugs for which they gave me certificates as well. Was so pleased with my purchases.
Love this store! Mustafa’s rugs are top quality. We always stop by when we are in Istanbul, even when we are not buying carpets, just to share some tea and excellent conversation. His knowledge of carpets and the history of the industry is incredible!
My wife and I have done our fair share of carpet shopping, mostly in KSA and Bahrain. Finding the right shop is incredibly important and we did a lot of research before coming to Istanbul. I was very impressed with the other reviews here and Mustafa's shop was one of the few we visited. Mustafa is very passionate about his business and enjoys educating his clientele. There is zero pressure to buy. We were thorough and visited multiple stores but Mustafa is the best. He's honest and kind. While there, a regular customer came in simply to chat and I can see why. Go here. I can't recommend Mustafa enough. It was a wonderful experience and we'll be sure to come here again next time we visit. We ended up purchasing a Kurdish carpet and a Soumak. Thank you Mustafa!
Great experience Mustafa was a genuine guy that did not put any pressure on me to buy had good knowledge was great to talk to and offered a good price verry happy with the carpet brought highly recomend!
