I purchased some made to measure shirts and a blazer, had the fitting and paid in full... I was won over by the great customer service by Bahar and the promise that they would arrive in January. The order had been delayed by over two weeks due to a backlog, however this was not clearly communicated in a timely manner. My final judgement is that the quality is definitely top notch and is comparible to any top tailor, however the lack of communication over the actual timelines left a slightly bitter taste. That being said overall I am very happy with the final products.
CIvan is a must for any guy who wants to dress with panache. The store has just moved to its new digs on the uber hip Serdar-ı Ekrem Caddesi - it's located in an apartment building, so simply ring the buzzer and they'll let you in. This new location, Bahar (the owner and designer) explained, is more accessible because it's right on street level and there's no way they'll not hear the doorbell (which may have been the reason why someone said there was no response on a Tuesday afternoon; I did notice he wrote before the store moved). It was hard to pick just one shirt - I wanted to buy at least three, and should have spoiled myself a bit more. Bahar is super sweet, smart, speaks perfect English and studied fashion in Amsterdam. Her designs do have a cool European twist that make them stand out in a great way. If you're looking to buy great clothes that nobody else in your town (or even country!) has, look no further. Clothes can be bought off the rack but if you need adjustments or a custom-made piece, the Civan team is there to help. Everything is made right there on the premises. (Note: they don't take credit cards, so stop off at an ATM en route.)

250 Turkish lira was too much for the shirt that I bought here! Update: it shrank drastically after dry cleaning there were no instruction!
