Tourist trap. *Long read ahead. **Image of silver ring with gem & 2 Mulberry purses. It seems like a most people only come here when they signed up for the 'Ephesus trip' to see the ruins, as we did. The building looks nice and well maintained. Upon arrival you are greeted by a salesman explaining how good the products are and a background to the business. Then we were taken onto the shop floor and given a demonstration of the zultanite gem that can be found only in Turkey. We then could wonder and look for ourselves, however without a doubt, a salesman will see you and will try to push you to buy something, or force you to look at something with a high price. Me and my partner even said we didn't have that much money to spend, he said this would be no worries and continued to try and sell us the white gold diamond jewelry that cost over a thousand Turkish lira (200). Only when my partner suggested taking a silver ring, instead of gold, did he begrudgingly show us the silver area on the upper level. We wanted to look on our own and would have been happier to make a purchase if this had happened but the salesman did not leave us alone until we agreed to buy something, after he discounted it 30% (when he had previously said 20% was the maximum they were allowed to go to). After the premium jewelers, there was a market stall selling 'genuine' fakes. A VERY relentless trader said that prices for a fake mulberry purse started at 110 but after some very exhaustive negotiation, did we get the price down to 60 for 2 purses, still more than we wanted to pay but worth it just to get out of there.

What an awful experience. Avoid Avoid Avoid! I've been coming to turkey twice a year every year since 2002 and I've never had an experience like this. As everyone else has said we visited here after Ephesus and if I knew what I was in for I would have waited in the coach. We first went in and had a salesman telling us about the place and jewellery and all seemed fine. Then it was just pure chaos, as soon as we were 'left to go have a look' it was like feeding time at the zoo and I was the food. I had 1 man putting his arm around me and pushing me towards a jewellery counter trying to get me to try on jewellery. I said I was just looking and I would come get him if I found something I liked, he said it was fine and 'left' me to it. I started wondering around and noticed he was behind me the entire time and again started pushing me towards counters. He then decides to force a ring that was too small onto my finger which took me ages to try get off and he stated I had to pay for it if it didn't come off. Another man come to join him in hassling me to buy the ring that was stuck on my finger and then finally the manager joined in too... I managed to get the ring off my finger and asked where the exit was to which they refused to answer me and so I asked where the cafe/toilet was and again refused to answer my question so I was ambling around trying to find a way out, went the way I come in to the front door and they had locked it so I started to panic a little as I could see no one else from the coach around. Eventually found some stairs and went up them andfinally found my way out by which point I still had the 3 people following me THE ENTIRE TIME. I will be reporting you to the hotel I stayed in to make sure none of their guests have the awful experience that I did and I will tell every single person I know to avoid you're shop. Thank you for ruining a day of my holiday and causing me to have a panic attack.

Lovely place but a big massive con....avoid like the plague!! Went here after a trip to Ephesus....part of the trip. I would recommend staying on the coach. First impressions - looks genuine and very fancy. They show you pieces of jewellery and then let you go and have a look around. Staff are like vultures, they pounce and get you trying jewellery on and pushing for you to buy...always giving you a better and better price. You feel very over powered. I ended up agreeing to buy a necklace. It was 'meant' to be 900 however after bartering for some time with the 'supposed' managers we settled on 300. As we did not know that we would be going to a Jewellery shop we didnt have that sort of money with us so agreed to leave a deposit of 8 (even though we had around 20 -strange) and the necklace would be delivered to our hotel later that evening; where we would make the remaining payment. I was a little uneasy thinking what if the necklace that arrives to our hotel isnt the exact one we looked at in the shop. Once we got back to our hotel we had a nosy in the hotel jewellery shop and spotted the same stone (colour changing) necklace. We asked how much would/should we pay for this and they said around 60!!! Panic set in, we just got conned into buying a similar product for 300!!! In the end we phoned the Galata Quality jewellers and cancelled our order. Very disappointed that Diana Travel would allow its customers to go to a place to be conned - wouldnt be surprised if they get a cut of the sales as the group were all given a coloured ID card on entry.

When returning from a wonderful day touring Ephesus our group were introduced to this factory outlet......It had a really nice arrangement and display of gold diamond rings where we were given a " sales pitch" then left to look........ when the most persistent sales man picked on me as he noticed a antique ring i was wearing.....he just would not let me be .......eventually i thanked him and had to walk out of the place without even been able to look for myself. If i was left alone i am sure i would have made a purchase....... i couldn't get out of the place fast enough and his after shave lotion was as over-powering as he was..........what a pity.
