Awesome museum for oil paintings from the Ottoman palace, mainly 19th century. Art works of many foreign and local painters in a great setting of Dolmabahce palace. It's recently restored and opened to public in the beginning of 2021. One of the must-see places in İstanbul.

It's temporarily closed, located inside Dolmabahce Palace Premises. Hope to be able to visit it soon!

At the entrance, you have to use a plastic mat for your shoes. The paintings are very beautiful, but its forbidden to take pictures. Everytime you enter the painting room, there will be annoying sensor sounds (beep beep). The price of the entrance to the painting museum is 20 TL. If you want to see the sights and parks behind the painting museum, you must have a ticket / card entrance of Dolmabahçe palace.

Cheap to visit. Good interior and very very good paintings. But taking pictures is prohibited, low interior lights make reading picture descriptions very hard. And you cant get enough because of annoying beeping sensors. Don't think there is enough personal to protect paintings.

Absolutely brilliant, filled with paintings of turkey, egypt and the middle east through the ages. Definitely a hidden gem - should be rated much much higher.
