I had been backpacking for 7 weeks, and as a native Texan, the single thing I missed the most was authentic restaurant Mexican food. Imagine my surprise as I looked at keywords on the menu that signaled authenticity, feasted my eyes on what I had ordered, and then took those initial bites ... this was legit Mexican food! The couple who own and operate the restaurant are lovely people. The woman and her mother are Mexico natives and run the kitchen. Chatting with them provided me with a little slice of home. I couldn’t have been more pleased. Highly recommended.

What an amazing place to eat!! As a Mexican and as a foreigner I have never been more satisfied in a Mexican restaurant while I am abroad!! I just love the way that they dont offers just tex-mex food (BTW, we don't eat that). They do this amazing food that makes me feel at home. Thank you La Catrina for being this little part of México in Antalya Turkey.

So dissapointed...although the atmosphere and service was lovely, the food was beyond dissatisfying. I ordered a plate of nachos to start and was served a plate of nacho cheese Doritos with an unsightly melted nacho cheese sauce, several jalapenos sprinkled about, with a black bean deep and cojita cheese in the middle. My entre was chicken tacos, and although the meat was juicy and tender the tacos were 1/4 filled with nothing but the meat mixture, and the soft taco shells were made of some sweet tasting corn mixture that I haven't quite figured out, with a side of verde and fresh tomato salsa. My 12 TL mixed fruit drink --although lovely in appearance-- was not made fresh and consisted of several juices that were mixed together from pre-made store bought brands, as I saw him pull the familiar bottles from the refrigerated beverage case at the front next to the bar. The server asked me if I enjoyed the meal, and my response was that it was okay, he then told me that the cook was his Mexican mother in law. That only made the meal that much more disappointing, as I am originally from Los Angeles, California and know very well what authentic Mexican cuisine tastes like. No authentic Mexican chef would dare ever serve Doritos on a plate with melted Velveeta style cheese and call it authentic nachos. Overall I was extremely disappointed to the point where I wanted to cry, as I had such high hopes for this being my first delicious Mexican dish that I've attempted since arriving in Turkey.
