Great food and view of the Izmir water front. The sun sets in front of you here and is very beautiful. Service was very good. The only negative about tables along the street front, is the constant disturbance from gypsies selling roses, balloons, lotto cards, children selling cookies and violin player offering to serenade. This is a problem for all the waterfront restaurants.

TL;DR: The restaurant charged us for things we didn’t ask for, we received small portions it was very expensive, and didn’t taste good. They gave us “free” bread and appetizers and poured us water, which we didn’t ask for, and we thought this was standard as every restaurant did this, they gave us a menu and the “main meals” didn’t have prices. I thought it was weird, but didn’t think much of it, my grandma ordered the shrimps and me and my dad ordered some steaks, the portions for both were very very small, there were 5 shrimps! and two small pieces of steak on each plate, the steaks also had some things on the side and they put plenty of rosemary on top (there was no description for the meal so this was an unpleasant surprise). Even then neither the shrimps or the steaks tasted good. We didn’t care much about any of this at the time, as we were just there to sit and have a nice chat. Until, the bill came, 1270 TLY (keep in mind this is the most we’ve paid for the smallest portions for the probably at least 30 times we’ve visited Turkey in the past 4 years). The shrimps were 180 TLY for 5 shrimps! The 3 bottles of water that we didn’t ask for cost money, the plentiful amounts of bread that we also didn’t ask for cost money and both of those things were also much more expensive than they’re supposed to be!
Highly recommend! We looked for recommended 4 starts restaurants near us and thought of giving Kordon Ocakbaşı a try, it wasn't disappointing at all. The staff is friendly and accurate, the service is excellent, the food is amazing, my son loved their grilled chicken kebab. If we were to visit Izmir again or to recommend a restaurant there, Kordon Ocakbaşı would be it.
We tasted beef and lamp but also many mezes, everything was perfect. Excellent service!
Awesome food (Adana and Beyti kebap), tasty Ayran and unbelievable friendly stuff! One waiter spoke multiple languages, was always with us when we needed him and we got çay and watermelon offered for free. Prices more than appropriate! We're going to visit them once again when in Izmir! Thanks for the nice experience of turkish cuisine :)
