For the last twenty years or so I have been looking for old-fashioned Turkish towels, but was unable to find any until I chanced on this place on the internet. The towels, delivered to the UK in a week, surpassed all expectation: thick, huge, and luxurious. The craftsmanship and quality are absolutely superb. Not cheap by any means, nor should they be, but really good value for artisan work. These towels will clearly last for years. Thinking of a wedding present, or a special anniversary? Stop thinking; this is the place!

Our map led us straight to Jennifer's showroom (you can also find them in the nearby market). We were served by Greg, who not only took us around the showroom showing us their products, but also told us the story and mission behind the business. We learned about the Turkish weaving art and industry and the work that Jennifer's Hamam is doing to keep it alive and promote the art around the world. We bought 8 towels - 4 hand towels for the kitchen and bathroom (Greg helped us choose good colors!) and 4 for the bathroom. We bought the largest size, the Turkish size in both the cotton weave and the peshtimal (thinner, more traditional towel). We have now owned them for 5 months and love them more and more each day. The quality is fantastic, they're stylish and comfortable and easy to wash. The cotton takes time to train, but Greg sent us home with those instructions. If you are going to Istanbul, do not miss this opportunity! Make this the thing you buy when you visit the city! You can also order online, but they have special pricing for those in the showroom. Prices are set, so you don't have to worry about bargaining.
My mom bought me some towels and a bathrobe from this shop (through a virtual shopping appointment, while she was in the US!) for Christmas, and I was immediately blown away by the quality and craftsmanship. I've lived in Istanbul for almost two years and have seen lots of Turkish towels, but these really are on a whole different level. The difference is immediately noticeable, and I love using them! I ended up contacting the shop to do my own virtual shopping session to buy towels for my mom as a birthday present. The email communication about the appointment was prompt, super clear, and extremely friendly. The appointment itself went so smoothly; the staff was very knowledgable and warm, answered all my questions, and were very patient while I made my selections. The prices and shipping were all communicated quickly and easily, and I'm so happy with my purchase. This shop has really wonderful people working there and is definitely worth a visit/contacting if you're interested in truly traditional, beautifully made Turkish towels.
In 2017, I visited Turkey and purchased handwoven Turkish towels from Jennifer's Hamam. Having used - and loved - the towels daily since then, I decided to explore the purchase of towels as Christmas gifts. Using WhatsApp, I was able to see pictures of options and choose my towels. E-transfer made payment easy and the towels arrived within a week! The recipients of my gift were most appreciative - and I appreciated the excellent service and quality of the towels. Jennifer's Hamam is not just a towel shop, its an exceptional Turkish experience. We had excellent service from Haci and Greg, and even got to meet Jennifer. We were welcomed into one of their two stores in the Arasta Bazaar, and then they took us to the showroom a few blocks away to choose from millions of different patterns/ sizes, etc. These are genuine Turkish towels. My sister got towels here 7 years ago and they are still in perfect condition. As a group, we bought housecoats, towels, blankets, scarves, body scrubbers, and some lovely soap. We are all completely satisfied with our purchases. It's also nice to know you are supporting local Turkish economy by buying hand made textiles. They are made by Turkish families, with Turkish materials made on old-style shuttled looms. The cotton is certified, so you know you're getting good quality from hard workmanship. The prices are fair and are all firm, which takes away the stress of trying to bargain. They sell them for fair prices, so knowing you're paying what they are actually worth is peace of mind. You'd be truly missing out if you didn't at least visit the store. Ask for the amazing Haci, and he will hook you up with the best towels in Turkey!
Some six years ago I had the good fortune to shop in person at Jennifer's Hamam. While there I purchased a number of kitchen towels - - primarily for my mother who wanted them for both personal use and to be given as gifts. In January 2021 I shopped at Jennifer’s ‘virtually’ - - via FaceTime. I again purchased towels for my mother - - as her gift supply was running short. The quality of the product and the virtual shopping experience were both 'top-shelf.' The towels are as good as ever and Jennifer's staff, led by Onur and Haci, made the shopping super easy. I cannot recommend Jennifer’s products more highly - - and I am happy to support the weavers she works with. I look forward to returning to Istanbul when travel is again permitted - - and one of my first stops will be Jennifer’s Hamam!!
These are truly the best towels EVER. In 2014, I bought three large bath towels (as well as several pestamels) and followed their recommendations for allowing the cotton to \bloom\. They still look and feel brand new, six years later. I bought additional towels later to have a winter and summer collection of colours. Just bought some more this past week as a gift.
I first shopped at Jennifer’s Hamam when I visited Istanbul in April 2019. I went at the tail end of a ten day trip and was exhausted but I knew I had to visit the store before I left Turkey. The physical store was so bright and full of sunshine and the staff there were so kind and generous that I ended up spending about an hour there. They were patient as I attempted some Turkish and I ended up leaving with some of the most gorgeous towels I’d ever seen. The prices are so amazing for the quality you get and combined with the shopping experience was the best end to my trip. When COVID happened, I knew it would be quite some time before I was able to visit again but I had been wanting a few additional towels and a kese. I filled out the web request form and just a few days later was on a delightful FaceTime call with the Jennifer’s Hamam team. Somehow they managed to replicate the same warm feeling that I had almost two years ago. I received my towels faster than I expected and the quality was exactly the same.
