Selin runs an incredibly professional and authentic Turkish cooking experience from her home. It begins with an informative stop at the spice market were you sample a ton of spices, tea, and a few other tasty treats accompanied by her husband, Jan. Then you hop on the ferry to the Asian side of Istanbul where you met Selin in her beautiful home. You feel like an old friend in her home as she takes the time to chat with you over fresh juice or tea in her living room before getting busy in the kitchen. Selin is a phenomenal host and keeps the tone casual and fun throughout the experience. She is well prepared and runs the class in an exceptionally organized manner. Selin keeps conversation going as she demonstrates and explains the ingredients and preparation. She infuses the class with facts and stories about Turkish culture. We got our hands dirty peeling, cutting, chopping, and mixing ingredients. Her assistant is always nearby to lend a helping hand. The class is paced perfectly. Before you know it you’re sitting at the table sharing your freshly cooked dishes, drinking a glass of wine, and conversing with everyone. The amount of food is perfect and the dishes are varied. (She can also accommodate vegetarians.) We loved that Selin provided everyone with a personal cookbook so you can recreate the recipes from class (and more!). After the class Jan returned us to the ferry stop, (or another location of your choice) and we were given a prepaid one-way transit pass for a free return- she has truly thought of everything! We were very impressed and left the experience happy, full, and satisfied. Her class is a great way to spend the day. We would highly recommend this cooking class!

Very great experience. From being picked up at the spice bazaar to going on a ferry and feeding the birds, to being welcomed in to their beautiful home to learn to make 6 different courses. At the end, you can eat your meal with a delicious cup of cherry juice, and to finish it off with dessert and Turkish coffee
Amazing. Must try if you are in Istanbul . I am from New York and loved the food and service. Very professional .
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed cooking 7 courses I highly recommend it.
Had a great time doing the cooking class with a group of coworkers. I would highly recommend if you can join when in Istanbul!
Just excellent, the best meal and experience I have ever had...
Immense food tour of istanbul this morning. It's low season here so had my own personal guide for the day. Apple tea, black tea, fresh pomegranate juice, spice tasting, pistachio backlava, barberry baklava, deep fried oysters, stuffed oysters, mezze, deep fried intestines, spiced liver, gherkins and pickles, red pepper pastes, pomegranate molasses, Turkish pizza, filo layered with cheese, stuffed vine leaves, sumac juice, mulberry juice, yoghurt drink (like lassi) and Turkish coffee to wash it down and keep you awake! Had an amazing guide, would recommend Taciser Ayvaz and @turkishflavours to anyone visiting. A brilliant spice shop in the spice market called @Ucuzcularbaharat who might be a new supplier for us! #istanbulisimmense #istanbul #turkey #foodtour
