I admire the love for details you can acknowledge on the exterior walls of this mosque, next level ottoman design compared to the more iconic mosques of Istanbul. The interior design is typical of the ottoman style & similar to other restaurants from this era.

Beautiful building but, like many of Istanbul's mosques these days, it often closed except for prayer times meaning its hard for non-Muslims to visit respectfully.

Another great Masjid, smaller than the other Masjids, but lovely and serene place.

Beautiful exterior but couldn't find the way in. The entrance on the main road was closed and we had to rush off.

Located at the principal intersection between Fatih and Aksaray, the Pertevniyal Valide Sultan Mosque was commissioned by Pertevniyal Valide Sultan, the wife of Sultan Mahmud II and the mother of Sultan Abdülaziz. Finished in 1871, the mosque’s architect was the Italian Monteni. The mosque, built on square plan, shows a mixture of Indian, Gothic and Turkish styles. It is located in a wide courtyard with three entrances, and is remarkable for the very plain style in which its mihrab and minbar were constructed.
