EPD Turkey registers and issues internationally recognized ISO 14025- and European EN 15804-compliant Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) certificates both in English and Turkish. EPD Turkey is also a member of ECO-Platform and actively involved with harmonisation activities in construction products in Europe. It has been thanks to SÜRATAM that the necessary workforce and equipment have been found to establish the Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) system in Turkey that is internationally acknowledged and complies with the existing ISO 14025 standard. With this support, EPD Turkey has become the only organization that issues EPD certificates that are compliant with the European EN 15804 standard, particularly for construction materials. The EPD certificates registered by EPD Turkey help Turkish companies join the growing numbers of sustainable manufacturers in Europe and remove potential trade barriers to businesses. EPD certificates can be issued for various sectors, and the primary demand comes from construction materials in green building certification systems (LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, HQE). The EPD certificates in Turkish which are published by EPD Turkey have been developed by SÜRATAM to create the infrastructure for the Green Building Assessment systems in Turkey. The Turkish Portal of Sustainable Construction Materials publishes documents for the same purpose.
