We've very much enjoyed our cooking class at Alaturka. There are several menus you can choose from. We made menu 1, which was exquisite from starter to dessert. Thank you both for teaching us how to cook these wonderful dishes and introduce us to typical and ancient Ottoman cuisine. We're looking forward to bringing this piece of Turkey home to our family and friends.

Our cooking class at Cooking Alaturka was one of the highlights of our trip to Istanbul! Leila and Rocco were so knowledgeable about Turkish cuisine and culture— we loved chatting with them while cooking. We cooked a 5 course meal and everything was delicious. 10/10 recommend!!

This was such a fun experience for my husband and I. They were very good teachers and it was a very hands on class. I learned so much about Turkish food and their different cooking techniques. The food was all very tasty and the class very informative. At the end they took the time to explain all of the best restaurants and things to do in Instanbul and even helped us find a cheap taxi home. We’ve been here in Istanbul for a few weeks and I would say this has been my favorite experience so far. Would definitely come back!!

My mom and I took a cooking clas at Cooking Alaturka. It was taught by chef Rocco and sous chef Layla. It was such a good experience for both of us. Rocco and Layla are fantastic hosts - warm and welcoming, funny, knowledgeable about Turkish history and culture and great cooks. We learned and we cooked delicious dishes. We will definitely be cooking them at home. Layla gave us recommendations for some ingridients and where to buy. Time flew by! We learned some new dishes and learned more about Turkish culture. It really was fantastic!

This experience deserves all the stars it can get and more! While preparing these delicious recipes, we learnt not only how to cook them, but also how to best appreciate them and tipps on how to put together such an elaborate meal in a time efficient way. Moreover, Rocco and Leyla are wonderful and it was a great pleasure to meet them, to learn from them and to have such engaging talks!

We are a couple from New Zealand and we did our cooking class on a friday night! The experience was so much more than our expectations. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and joyful. They were extremely easy to communicate with, the steps were easy to follow and the food was delicious. We had so much fun! We made 5 course meals from fresh, organic ingredients and at the end, we were able to enjoy the meals as if it was a provate top class restaurant. I’d definitely recommend this if you are looking for some unique, exciting experience in Istanbul!

We had a fabulous time learning how to cook 5 authentic Turkish dishes - lentil soup with bulgar, stuffed eggplant, dolmas with meat, and a fig and walnut dessert. Leyla was warm, welcoming, and energetic. Rocco was patient in explaining the ingredients and techniques. It was a wonderful experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting Istanbul.
