Tarsus UGS Project has obtained a "Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate"​ from the Turkish government and has the following functions, • Securing natural gas supply • Balancing seasonal variations in natural gas consumption • Covering natural gas demand peaks • Enhancing the cost-effectiveness of natural gas transport • An increasing role for arbitrage & trading opportunities
