Based on excellent reviews we had high expectations for our meal at Pera Thai and as a result we were a little under-whelmed after our visit. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice and the service is attentive. The food is all fine without being particularly good, but the value for money felt poor compared to other places we ate in Istanbul. We had a nice time at Pera Thai but wouldn't return as there are much better options available in Istanbul.

One time was more than enough! Over priced, stingy, and below average taste. I had Thai food in many countries and this was one of the worst. Tom yum soup had 2 pieces of shrimp, light taste, and very few pieces of veggies. Green and red curry as you can see in the photo was nothing special, below average taste with few pieces of chicken and shrimp. Rice was ok!

In short, we just love this place. We don’t go often because we don’t live nearby, but it’s usually the first place my husband and I think of when we have something to celebrate. The pad thai and green curry are our favorite dishes (we get the vegetarian versions but I’m sure they’re all as delicious); I personally love the watermelon cocktail; and we’ve been happy with every other dish we’ve tried. Most importantly, the service is wonderful—warm and professional, and we always look forward to seeing them.

I cannot believe the comments I read here! Pera Thai is the best Thai restaurant in the country. I can always count on the excellence of food and the service as well. The team has been the same for more or less 20 years. It is an incredible success for a local shop. My favorites are of course the Pad Thai and the coconut soup deliciousness - can’t remember the name... Love love love this place. I’ve been coming here traditionally on my birthday for a few years now. Last year, I dined here 3 days in a row! My best friend took me more than 10 years ago to their previous location. It’s been one of my favorite restaurants since then.

Best Thai experience in Istanbul! 10/10, I would recommend it to everyone who wants to have an excellent dining experience and eat great food. The shrimp pad thai and glazed chicken bites were exceptional. Thanks to our waiter Ismail Bey, everything was amazing!

Overall a good spot to go. Some of their flavors were not great, they were just average. What I would get again is the Beef Satay, and the Pad Thai. What I would skip is the green curry and the Thai iced tea. The Thai iced tea just didn't taste like it, so would recommend not getting that.

I rarely leave poor reviews, but I feel this one is deserved. I have visited 7 different cities in Turkey and Istanbul twice now. I have had everything from street food all the way to fine dining at Mikla. Pera Thai is by far the worst experience I have had. They poured water from a wet plate into my fiance's lap, tried to take her soup while she literally was eating a spoonful, and surprisingly charged for water - the only time I have seen this in Turkey before. What takes the cake, however, is they charge a 10% service fee (tip) regardless of how poor service is. The food, yeah it is OK but not great. My advice, ÇokÇok Thai is just around the corner with better food, better service, better prices, and tipping only if deserved.

Too touristic place. Coconut soup was bas, padtai was ok. Service wasn't bad, but wasn't good enough (but you will be charged for this \excellent\ service, hahah). Instead of traditional Turkish tea they bring me just... Lipton! Lol
