Nusretiye Mosque is an ornate mosque located in Tophane district of Beyoğlu, Istanbul, Turkey. While its architecture is influenced by Islamic elements, it retains a Baroque style, making it unique to the city. It was built in 1823-1826 by Sultan Mahmut II.

Absolutely fantastic architecture inside and out! Very kind people: the imam and the workers tried to talk to me and tell what they do and what this building is about!

Beautifully renovated 19thC mosque. It is not excessively ornate or colourful but the artists have done a great job with the gold and dark greys and the floral patterns. I particularly liked the fancy balcony which I assumed was for the sultan or important guests.
