Karaite Synagogue

I happened to visit this place almost 20 years ago when there were local Karaites davening for the Karaite Passover. The elderly hazzan was speaking in the Karaite Greek vernacular which is one of the least known endangered dialects of the colossal Greek language. The synagogue is below the street level and not exactly underground as it is told in the local tall tales. I am sure it is still well kept with its elegant carpets but I am not sure how many Karaites are still in Istanbul; and whether they visit their heritage building or not is still an enigma...
