This is one of the more popular places for a fish wrap but unfortunately that does not mean that it is the best. They try to seduce you with overpriced fish dishes but just take the wrap if you come here. It is delicious but the service is quite slow and not very friendly. A few days later I found an old man with a cart nearby the pier making fish wraps, way better ánd cheaper!

Very friendly staff and everything is freshly made. Went for the traditional Balik Dürüm (fish wrap) which was delicious. This place is worth finding!

Delicious simple street food cooked by the water. The fish is fresh and the wrap is crisped up in some flavourful spiced oil. One of the best meals I had in Istanbul. They also have a restaurant which other people in the reviews seemed to have issues with but we had no problems.
There are a lot of places selling fish kebabs around the area but there is only one Emin Usta. Make sure you go the right place. Google maps is wrong by about 100 meters. I have uploaded a picture. Look for him. When you see him, you are in the right place. I did a lot of research and asked a few local people and Emin Usta seems to be the best that you can get. I have never had a fish kebab before but I saw the pictures and I love mackerel. We arrived at 2pm. Placed our order and sat on the tables and chairs on the street. I decided to go and watch him at work and the skill and expertise is very apparent. While watching him skillfully prepare a fish, he gave me a piece of the fish skin. That was an amazing taste. After 10 minutes we got our freshly cooked order and I have to say that this was the best fish dish I have ever eaten. The taste is amazing.
I heard about Emin from a Deutche Welle documentary about Istanbul and the food you can find here. Indeed, we tried his famous fish sandwiches. Totally unexpected, different of what we had earlier, on the boats: great taste, a crunchy wrap, the fish withspecial herbs was really good. Amazing! Also the view of the harbour was great from his cozy and funny painted small restaurant. Definitely I recommend this place as a real local culinary experience!!
