Latif was the perfect tour guide! He is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing the history of each site we visited. He has a winning personality and went out of his way to make last minute arrangements to pick me up and return me to the airport in time for my connecting flights. I took two five-hour tours on two separate visits and each was efficient, informative, and enjoyable. Istanbul is a stunningly beautiful city full of ancient history, architecture, and culture. Istanbul Layover Tours made my visits effortless and stress free.

Latif was wonderful! He was so responsive to emails. I was able to do a tour leaving the airport at 8am and got back around 4:30pm and saw all the ‘bucket list’ items as well as extra specialties! Many many thanks!

Excellent experience! Latif, guide and owner of the company, arranged everything perfectly for my evening layover in Istanbul. It started with a luxurious black car ride from the airport to Old Town where he was waiting to greet me. From there we wandered into the Spice Market, onto the ferry to cross into the Asian side of the city then back to head toward Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. I had very little time to do everything but Latif made it extra special. We said our goodbyes as I jumped back into my black car and headed back to the airport (all included in the tour). He was amazing and I'd highly recommend him and Istanbul Layover Tours to everyone.

I found myself with an overnight layover in Istanbul on my way home from two weeks overseas holiday, and was initially uncertain whether I would just relax at the hotel given I would be flying home from Istanbul the following morning and straight to work or if I should take the opportunity to try and see a little of Istanbul while there. Although I wasn't sure how much value there would be in taking a tour, given I arrived at the new Istanbul airport at around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, I contacted Istanbul Layover Tours and they said they could arrange something. Overall I was very happy that I took that opportunity and with my experience with the company and my tour guide Latif. On arriving at Istanbul airport, it was a bit of a process to begin with - to look for my name at arrivals for the people who would usher me out to the driver who would take me into the old city where I would meet Latif and we would begin the tour proper, but that all went smoothly enough. The emails we had exchanged in organising the tour had indicated transfers in a Mercedes van, so some might have been aggrieved that it was actually a Ford van that took me into the city; but most importantly, the van was clean, well-presented and professionally driven. Perhaps the biggest downside of the new airport is that it about 40km driving from the old city, so there's about 2 hours of travel time. But that still gave plenty of time for Latif to show me around the old city, take the ferry across the Bosporus River over to the Asian side of Istanbul for dinner, and then back for a quick visit via the Galata Tower, before returning to the airport. Latif was very engaging and enthusiastic with his guiding and passing on knowledge of Istanbul. If anyone has a layover in Istanbul, I would highly recommend this.

We LOVED our tour with Istanbul Layover Tours. We had an 8 hour layover, getting in to IST in the evening. Latif met us just outside of the Arrivals wing and we quickly jumped into his van, speeding off to the Old City. He was a FANTASTIC guide, we went all over the city, Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, Asian side, new city/old city. We didn't just rush through it all, Latif provided an amazing explanation of the site's historical, societal and religious significance. It wasn't just history though, it was the FOOD! Latif introduced us to wonderful little bites to eat, along each site, everything from cheese, to mussels, to Turkish burritos. It was NOTHING that we could have done on our own, worth every penny

Absolutely worth getting out of the hotel. We got to see a bunch, try some new foods and get a feel for the vibe of the city. Abdullah, our guide, was awesome. Informative and geared things towards our preferences. Everything went smooth.

I had a fabulous time during my 8 hour layover tour! I booked it very last minute and am thankful I was able to be squeezed in. Israfil was my awesome guide. He was able to customize the tour according to my taste and time availability. As a solo female traveler, I felt very comfortable with Israfil. He is funny, intelligent and knowledgeable about all the points of interests and gives the local feel to the city. I am very pleased with the entire experience and highly recommend the company to others

We really enjoyed our tour with Istanbul Layover Tours and highly recommend it. Latif was a wonderful guide--informative, funny, and flexible. The logistics of arranging the tour, transport from the airport, meeting the guide, etc. all went smoothly. I appreciated the excellent communication and attention to detail. We learned a lot about Old Istanbul in a short time and would love to return. If/when we do, we'll contact Latif for another tour.
