Entrance was about 18tl. For that price it was excellent value. Some of the description boards in the English language had somehow faded more than the Turkish language so I came away not fully understanding its place in the history of Izmir. The vaulted area of the ruins illustrates the mastery of the ancient builders and their techniques.

Good place to wander round and read about the history of the city. Information boards are in Turkish, English and French. Very cheap to get in. Allow about 90 minutes. Some good photo opportunities. Good location to then head into the market for a bite to eat.

Little archeological remains of Izmir's agora. Very pretty, nice to visit located in the centre of the city nearby the biggest bazaar in Turkey! The price is only 14 lira to enter (around 2), worth a quick stop!

Incredible masonry workmanship on the wall, still standing for centuries. Running water from the original pipes is a bonus!

It’s nice. Hardly busy which is perfect. A lot of stray dogs though, in the middle of a village. But overall it’s a nice area

A must visit place in izmir ,especially traveller who interested Archaeological spots its build 4th century BC , Smyrna's ancient agora was ruined in an earthquake in AD 178 but soon rebuilt by order of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. The reconstructed Corinthian colonnade and Faustina Gate are eye-catching, but the vaulted chambers and cisterns in the basements of the two stoas (basilicas) are even more interesting, giving visitors a good idea of how this rectangular-shaped, multilevel marketplace would have looked in its heyday. Archaeological investigations are still underway.
