Absolutely delicious! 1924 recently reopened its doors so we decided to visit. Everything from the place itself to the food to the service was beyond amazing. Highly recommended for a one of a kind experience

This is a very unique and nice restaurant. Founded in 1924, it is an old Russian restaurant. I loved the environment, felt very nostalgic with all the candles and the wooden decor. It used to host many famous people both Turkish and international including Ataturk who was a frequent visitor. There is a table dedicated to him that is forever reserved for him. The food was really good as well. Theres a fixed menu option for 2 people. I think this is very beneficial in terms of letting you try out a variety of things and the price ends up a-lot more economic than selecting a few starters and a main course on their own. The menu included 3 cold and 1 warm starter, 1 main dish and 1 desert. The portions are quite fulfilling. I really liked the ambiance and the overall experience. Definitely recommend it.

An authentic and original restaurant. Very impressive entry and you get a feeling of coming into a luxurious place. You feel the harmony between the live music, the interior, the lighting and the colour of the walls. Really a welcoming place. The staff is skilled and can explain about food and beverages on the menu. nice crystal glasses and silver cutlery on the table. I liked the design and the print on the menu which I got in both in Turkish and English. We chose our drinks and starter. We were served well and we all had good feeling of the way we were treated. All starters were delicious, and we really enjoyed them all. However, the disappointment come with drinks. The cocktail called 1924 was just good. The Moscow Mule was very watery and tasted just water, which they changed immediately, and we got new one. But it was as watery as the first one. They changed it again but this time we asked for the only cocktail with Gin on the menu (the sixth one). I was not impressed. The main course was just ok. Nothing spectacular, is with the sauce or the food. A mediocre cooked dish! I think that it was not a price-worthy experience. They need a better bartender and more variety of extracts, bitter and Gin to be able to live up to their menu. They would also need a better cook to match the expectation that the whole atmosphere creates in the mind of the visitors.

I have read a lot about this restaurant and have seen it over social media. This historic restaurant holds so much beauty, history, taste, and royalty. The pickles at the beginning are so yummy, the appetizers, but the cherry on top was the dessert.

This place is magnificent. Number one choice for a restaurant. I loved it so much. I will stop here every time I'm in Istanbul. You need to try the chocolate russian egg for desert. It's crazy. This could be one the best restaurants in the world and one of the places to experience in your life time.

The restaurant's food is excellent and the atmosphere takes you back in time. Cocktail menu is creative. Suggest dining in the upper floor balcony for a good view of the restaurant. Thumbs up!

A wonderful trip back in time, The perfect elegant dining experience in Istanbul. A must!! The best atmosphere we have ever had at a restaurant. Only a few steps from the lively, vibrant Istiklal street, is this hidden gem, that it makes you travel back in time as soon as you open the door of the restaurant. The menu consists of old Eastern European dishes, every dish on the menu has a story. We started with their spectacular cocktails and homemade infused vodka, a wide variety of infused vodkas are a must to try! We had some cold and hot appetizers grilled aubergine rolls filled with goat cheese and walnuts, sprinkled with olive oil, the combination of grilled aubergine and goat cheese with crunchy walnuts, is just heavenly. We also had Spinach Pkhali a Georgian popular dish made of minced cooked spinach along with cilantro and walnuts sprinkled with pomegranate seeds, The flavor is very unique I recommend it very much. We also had Circassian chicken, a classic Circassian dish that is made of shredded cooked chicken with crushed walnuts. Not to forget Topik an Armenian dish that consists of chickpea paste, surrounding a filling of onions, pine nuts, and currants. Very delicious. The menu takes you through a journey through Eastern Europe, tasting dishes from different countries on one table!. For the main dish, we had beef stroganoff, a classic Russian dish, the waiter prepare it just in front of your eyes! we loved the presentation!. And finally, for dessert, we had Chocolate Faberge, a masterpiece! mindblowing flavors in your mouth. The base was a chocolate cake, a chocolate egg on top, inside this chocolate egg is a scoop of raspberry ice cream, all covered with hot vanilla custard! believe me, the flavors are gonna wake up all your senses! I highly recommend this dessert! Very friendly and charming host Sashah and great staff, we were made to feel very welcome and special. We are definitely coming back to this charming restaurant!.
